Billing Clerk - Irene Day Hospital at Intercare Group South Africa

CRITICAL OUTPUTS

• Accurate capturing of ward, theatre and gas stock.
• Ensure that authorisation documents are correct.
• Verify with medical aid if account received, how much was paid and when.
• Do billing within eight hours after discharge.
• Capture charge sheets accurately within 24-hour time frame and update as required.
• Apply appropriate ICD10 and CPT4 codes on accounts in line with authorization and estimates.
• Assist with cyclic and annual stock counts.
• Oversee daily stock ordering by ensuring adequate minimum stock levels, compiling internal purchase orders, receiving stock and management of consignment stock.
• Assist with procurement of stock and equipment where required.
• Maintain linen counts and oversee laundry activity for unit.
• Ordering, receiving and controlling of stationery, consumables and printing stock.

REQUIREMENTS

• Minimum Required: Grade 12
• Previous medical billing experience preferable
• Knowledge of ICD10 and CPT4 coding advantageous. 
• High level of accuracy and ability to work under pressure
• Computer proficiency (MS Office)
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Good communication skills
• AS400 knowledge advantageous
