Boilermaker at Weir Minerals

Purpose of Role:

• Fabricates, assembles, and repairs metal structures, interpreting blueprints, cutting, shaping, and welding steel, and ensuring the structural integrity and functionality of metal components and systems. Conduct inspections, maintenance, and repairs on existing structures. Utilize various tools and equipment, including cutting torches, guillotines, and hand and power tools. Maintaining tools, equipment, and the work area

Key Responsibilities:

• Adhere to all Safety Health Environment (SHE) and housekeeping requirements. 
• Adhere to the Duty of Care Policy at all times.
• Conduct routine inspections of premises and equipment to identify unsafe or malfunctioning conditions.
• Support the maintenance team and production by ensuring smooth operations and assisting with routine maintenance task.
• Demonstrate 100% commitment to our zero harm behaviors in support of our drive towards developing a world class safety culture. 
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to housekeeping standards.

​​​​​​​Job Knowledge/Education and Qualifications:

• Minimum of N3 certificate
• Boilermaker trade certificate
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in manufacturing or heavy industry
• Be able to work at height and in confined spaces
• Have a forklift and overhead crane license
• Problem-solving skills and communication skills
