GAS Accounting is looking for an experienced bookkeeper to join our production team in Sandton. You'll manage the full bookkeeping cycle for a portfolio of clients, from gathering source documents to delivering accurate, review-ready management accounts.
This is a fast-paced, deadline-driven role with real career growth into Senior Bookkeeper, Accountant and Account Manager positions, and we support ongoing study.
Key responsibilities
Collect client records and follow up on outstanding information
Process transactions and VAT in Xero across multiple clients
Complete monthly bank and supplier reconciliations
Maintain fixed asset registers and process payroll journals
Clean up and catch up incomplete historical records
Prepare books for management accounts and year-end handover
Requirements
5+ years' bookkeeping experience in an accounting practice or multi-client environment, managing 16 to 22 sets of books
Tertiary qualification in bookkeeping or accounting
Experience on Xero, Sage and Pastel; Dext, Hubdoc and Karbon advantageous
Strong Excel skills
Ability to review and analyse management accounts
Excellent attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure
