About the Role

• We are seeking a detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join our team at VW Germiston. This role focuses on maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring compliance with accounting standards.
• You will play a key role in the financial functionality of our operations, enhancing decision-making processes through your expertise in bookkeeping.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day bookkeeping activities, including accounts payable and receivable
• Prepare and post journal entries to appropriate accounts on a timely basis
• Reconcile bank statements and manage monthly financial closing processes
• Maintain accurate financial records, ensuring completeness and compliance with accounting regulations
• Assist in the preparation of financial reports, including profit and loss statements and balance sheets
• Process payroll and ensure accuracy in payroll-related accounting entries
• Liaise with auditors during financial audits and provide necessary documentation
• Support the finance team with ad hoc tasks and projects as required

Requirements

• Proven track record in bookkeeping or accounting roles
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial regulations
• Excellent attention to detail with strong analytical skills
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion in financial matters
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• Experience with ERP systems is an advantage
• Relevant bookkeeping certifications, such as a Certified Bookkeeper or equivalent, are preferred
• Familiarity with industry-specific accounting standards is a plus
