Senior Financial Officer (6-month Contract) at DeARX Services (Pty) Ltd

• We are seeking a Senior Financial Officer for a leading banking client in Sandton. This is an exciting opportunity for a finance professional who can translate financial data into meaningful insights, support strategic decision-making, and drive effective financial management within a fast-paced banking environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare, analyse, and present monthly financial and non-financial reports to support business decision-making.
• Forecast monthly financial performance by analysing trends, cost drivers, and expenditure patterns.
• Conduct variance analysis against budgets and previous periods, providing meaningful financial commentary to stakeholders.
• Manage financial planning processes, including annual budgets, three-year plans, and quarterly forecasts.
• Monitor and report on expenditure against budgets, including staff costs, headcount, and operational expenses.
• Prepare and present monthly operational committee reports and quarterly business review packs to senior management.
• Analyse business profitability and provide financial insights and recommendations to stakeholders.
• Manage and reconcile expenditure relating to training, local area marketing, and donations, ensuring compliance with policies.
• Support branch administration and closed-branch processes, ensuring adherence to procedures and minimising financial risks.
• Train and guide line managers and stakeholders on financial management, budgeting, and profitability.
• Ensure accurate reporting and adherence to financial reporting deadlines.
• Identify opportunities to improve financial processes, reporting systems, and controls.

Minimum Requirements

• Qualification: BCom Honours in Accounting or a relevant equivalent qualification.
• Experience: 3–5 years of financial management experience, preferably within the banking or financial services industry.
• Strong experience in financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint.
• Knowledge of financial governance, risk management, controls, and regulatory requirements.
• Excellent analytical, report-writing, and stakeholder management skills.
