Bridge Engineer at AECOM

Job Description

Bridge EngineerAECOM South Africa is looking for bridge engineers for the delivery of diverse local and international bridge projects.Design and planning of new bridges, culverts, and other road and rail structures in accordance with TMH7 and other relevant codes;Rehabilitation and upgrading design of existing bridges and drainage structures;Oversee the preparation of construction drawings;Preparation of project specifications and contract documentation;Inspection of bridges and culverts in accordance with TMH19;Applying the AECOM Quality Management System (QMS) in all work;Preparation of design reports.

Qualifications

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

• Minimum five years’ experience (including appropriate site experience);Experience in the design of bridges and other civil structures
• Experience in the inspection of bridges and culverts
• Knowledge of international bridge design codes will be a benefit
• Proficiency in structural design software (Midas, Sofistik, RM Bridge) will be a benefit
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit and CADS RC will be a benefit.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: 

• Degree in Civil Engineering;Postgraduate studies in structural and/or bridge engineering will be a benefit;Accreditation as a Bridge or Culvert Inspector will be a benefit.
