Building Inspector at Madibeng Local Municipality

• Salary scale: R443 766.36 (Post level 7)

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

• Grade 12
• A relevant National Diploma qualification stipulated in the national building regulations
• Computer Literacy: MS Officer
• Driver’s License:
• Code EB Eligible to be registered as peace office (Law Enforcement Officer)
• 3 – 5 years building industry experience

KEY PERFORMANCES AREAS:

• Have the ability to communication in writing as appropriate to specific audiences Have the ability to gather information, analyse issues and deal with complexity and ambiguity, show long-term thinking, follows through in a logical manner, aware of consequences and implications
• Be able to apply knowledge of non-criminal statutes and regulations for minimising community safety issues
• Have the ability to demonstrate detailed k knowledge of the National Building Regulations, Codes and Standards
• Encourage officers and staff to learn about the issues affecting their local area 
• Analyse information carefully to make sure it has not been misunderstood
• Understand and internalize the municipality’s priorities and goals
• Communicate ideas and information effectively, both verbally and in writing
• Explore and implement new ways of delivering services that contribute to the improvement of municipal processes in order to achieve municipal goals
