    Business Analyst, Testing, Financial Markets Operations (24 month contract)

    Purpose:

    • The jobholder will assume the role of business analyst, supporting several Projects across AME Financial Markets Operations with special focus on testing and implementation.

    Key responsibilities:

    • Work closely with Operations to Design and execute high-quality test cases based on accurate business requirements analysis.
    • Perform Sanity & UAT testing in accordance with Project Timelines. Ensure test specifications, testing data and testing environments are up and ready for testing.
    • Ensure testing is conducted in line with the Bank policies and operating procedure, agreed project rules of engagement and scope of project.
    • Participate in the relevant forums to provide accurate and in-depth feedback in terms of testing progress.
    • Engage various Technology Teams to prepare and align the relevant systems for testing.
    • Participate in relevant Market Working Groups and analyse potential issues and risks on the agreed testing strategy.
    • Raise defects once agreed with Operations and follow up till logical closure. Work with cross-borders teams for any defects issue and raise new requirements for potential gaps.
    • Keep stakeholders abreast of testing progress and key milestones and highlight timely any risks and issue. Communicate effectively and work collaboratively with internal units within Test Functions e.g. SME/BA/Ops Users during planning & preparation stage.
    • Test production issues prior to deployment.
    • Constantly analyse, enhance, and seek to improve the testing processes employed with special focus on automate testing opportunities.
    • Create ready-made test packs and work closely with technology to include standard test cases in the regression and SIT test packs.
    • Analysis of market and internal solution documents to create test packs/cases in line with solution.

    Our Ideal Candidate

    • Technical qualification with 2+ years' experience in multiple phases of the project lifecycle, preferably with exposure to business project delivery roles.
    • Good knowledge of Securities Services (Custody) systems and standard processes, project management, implementation and post implementation processes.
    • Able to take ownership of issues/tasks and apply Project Management best practices
    • Ability to create effective work relationships across business & borders.
    • Senior stakeholder engagement and management experience.
    • Focused, organised, results-oriented and works independently to strict timeframes.
    • Cross functional and domain knowledge in terms of products and segments is an advantage.
    • Good presentation and excel skills.

    Market Knowledge:

    • Awareness and understanding of the wider business, economic and market environment in which the firm operates especially in the South African Market.
    • Understanding of Fiduciary and Fund Services processes and key associated market risks.
    • Understanding of Custody and Clearing processes and key associated market risks.
    • Proven track record to quickly get up to speed on new areas, concepts and products.

    Business Strategy and Model:

    • Awareness and understanding of the firm's business strategy and model appropriate to the role.
    • Track record in delivering continuous improvement.

    Risk Management and Control:

    • The ability to identify, assess, monitor, control and mitigate risks to the firm. Also, an awareness and understanding of the main risks facing the firm and the role the individual plays in managing them.

    Financial Analysis and Control:

    • The ability to interpret the firm's financial information, identify key issues based on this information and put in place appropriate controls and measures.

    Governance, Oversight and Controls:

    • The ability to assess the effectiveness of the firm's arrangements to deliver effective governance, oversight and controls in the business and, if necessary, oversee changes in these areas.
