    Manager: Skills Development

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:   

    • A  relevant  3 - year tertiary qualification in Human Resources Management or related field.  
    • Basic computer literacy: MS Office   
    • Valid driver’s license  
    • 5  -   8 years’ relevant experience  with supervisory experience . 

    KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:   

    • Ensure strategic decision - making by the municipality acknowledging trends to improve its service delivery capacities.  
    • Ensure that skills development is fully integrated into the municipality’s HR strategy and Integrated 
    • Development Plan (IDP), reducing critical skills gaps and improving service continuity.  
    • Ensure critical skills and learning interventions are identified enabling the organisation to plan, prioritise and implement programmes that contribute to efficiency and quality of service delivery.  
    • Ensure an adequate service to all employees regarding career planning and development.  
    • Ensure staff members are capacitated through targeted training, resulting in improved compliance, service delivery standards, and employee morale. 
    • Ensure effective participation in learning opportunities benefitting the local community and demonstrate social responsibility by the municipality.  
    • Effectively report on post - training assessments informing future training planning and budgeting.  
    • Ensure the municipality submits a WSP/ATR in accordance with applicable legislation and LGSETA protocols.   
    • Ensure that accredited and effective relationships contribute to cost - effective training and development practices, enhancing municipality standing as an employer of choice.

    Grade A Examiner of Driving Licenses

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:   

    • Grade 12   
    • Relevant Certificate (Grade A Examiner of Driving Licenses certificate)  
    • Computer Literacy: MS Office  
    • Code A and EC driving license  
    • 5  -   8 years relevant experience with supervisory experience 

    KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:   

    • Ensure the eyesight of an application is correct for the type of vehicle the applicant applied for  
    • Ensure that applicant complies with the set requirements for a learner’s license  
    • Ensure that the applicant is competent to drive the correct class vehicle and comply with the rules of the road and road signs  
    • Keep record of all driving tests that has been passed and failed  
    • Retrieve information when required  
    • Provide a service to the public  
    • Ensure that duties are executed correctly

    Senior Disaster Management Officer

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:   

    • Relevant tertiary qualification preferably in Disaster (Risk) Management  DMISA Registration: Associate (Candidate will be required to register with DMISA within 6 months of appointment if not already registered)  Computer Literacy: MS Office  
    • 5  -   8 years’ experience in the field of Disaster (Risk) Management of which 2 at Disaster (Risk) Management Officer level 

    KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:   

    • Ensure potential hazards and risks are identified enabling the Section and , identified areas, to adequately plan and prepare thereby reducing / minimizing the impact and consequences  
    • Ensure operative requirements and procedures during potential and actual disasters are met  
    • Co - ordination of the Disaster Management Plans, Contingency Plans and Emergency Plans of George Municipality  
    • Ensure applications and procedures guiding the operational requirements / outcomes associated with Disaster Management are complied with  
    • Ensure adequate awareness is created on the advantages of adopting a proactive approach which supports early detection and / or planning to reduce and / or remove the threat of disaster  
    • Administration of the volunteer Disaster  Management   Corps by means of brochures, media, speeches at schools and other institutions, exhibits, projects, other emergency services, equipment, training facilities, stationery, computer, meeting facilities, legislation and policies  
    • Ensure that the Municipality is in a state of readiness to manage and assist in a disaster situation
