    Business Controller & Head of Finance - Kwatani

    The Role:
    The successful incumbent will be responsible for overseeing and managing the Financial Department and Business Control function of Kwatani’s operations in South Africa

    Main Responsibilities:


    • Prepare reports, analyse key performance indicators (KPIs) and developing gap analysis as well as corrective action plans to improve operational efficiencies especially in the areas of cost and working capital management.
    • Structure and report the financial targets for the business.
    • Support monthly performance review process, risk management, and follow up selected KPIs.
    • Set up and manage appropriate internal controls.
    • Support the relevant stakeholders on sales analysis, cost analysis, regional analysis, product mix, profitability, and customer analysis as well as and other analysis and initiatives to support business growth.
    • Support ad-hoc Finance/Accounting related projects/initiatives.


    • Lead the financial control organisation
    • Compile accurate and on time monthly management accounting reports.
    • Coordinate and complete all financial, audit and tax related activities of the company to ensure full compliance.
    • Establish and manage the company’s financial process and controls system and accounting procedures in accordance to the prevailing Group policies and seek to drive continuous improvements.

    Your Profile:

    • Qualified Chartered Accountant (registered with SAICA)
    • At least 5 years’ experience in a financial role and business controlling of which 2 to 3 years preferably be in a managerial position.
    • 5 years working experience, ideally in multinational engineering/manufacturing company.
    • Good knowledge of local accounting legislations and practices.
    • Proven project management experience and demonstrable skills in report writing and data illustration for decision making.
    • Ability to function in a matrix structure and show sensitivity and flexibility to the country structure.

    Skills and Competencies:

    • Excellent IT skills (Syspro, Microsoft office package)
    • Strong problem solving and decision-making skills, meticulous and customer oriented.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills
    • Teamwork and team leadership
    • Results orientated
    • Analytical, meticulous, self-motivated, resourceful, reliable.
    • Ability to work under pressure and multi-task.
