    Business Developer, Sales - JHB

    Scope of role:

    • To develop, maintain and manage sales for Hexagon’s Mine monitoring portfolio in Africa.
    • Manage sales process and opportunities for key corporate accounts identified by Business Development Manager (BDM) for Mine Monitoring Africa to achieve sales targets set on quarterly basis.
    • To manage and provide mentorship to all sales personnel in the Africa.
    • To develop budgets for mining sales in liaison with BDM Mine Monitoring Africa to develop forecasts for mining sales in liaison with the BDM Mine Monitoring Africa
    • To contribute to the development and implementation of a CRM strategy
    • To maintain and build strategic relationships with existing and potential customers and industry contacts.

    Major Areas of Responsibility:

    The duties and responsibilities of the position include the following:

    • Develop and implement sales plans and strategies to continue growth of IDS Georadar product portfolio
    • Manage sales leads through to closure and monitor against approved budgets to ensure financial results are on, or ideally above, target and implement plans to counteract deviations
    • Use SalesForce to manage the whole sales pipeline.
    • Present and demonstrate the mine systems product range and associated benefits for customers.
    • Negotiate sales contracts and associated install and commissioning milestones
    • Develop financial and personnel budgets, for approval by BDM
    • Identify, foster and leverage relationships with internal stakeholders, customers and industry contacts supporting the attainment of the goals for the business
    • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of the region, industry, and in particular, customer needs and requirements
    • Work collaboratively with Product Management to provide insights into client and industry product requirements as well as potential developments which will set IDS GeoRadar apart from its competitors
    • Represent IDS GeoRadar in industry events and tradeshows and collaborate with the Marketing and Product Management to prepare for such events
    • Represent the business in industry associations where appropriate to advance the interests of IDS GeoRadar
    • Prepare periodic sales reports and forecasts as required.
    • Provide monthly and or quarterly report on the Business unit regarding the sales performance
    • Compliance with Hexagon’s Workplace Health and Safety policies and procedures, participation in audits and compliance with instructions given in respect to the health and safety of himself / herself and the safety of others
    • Cross-functional collaboration to resolve customer satisfaction issues, e.g. service and delivery issues
    • Dealing with conflicting priorities
    • Other duties and responsibilities as required from time to time

    Desired Skills

    Experience

    • Tertiary qualifications in Engineering (Mining / Geotechnical) Geology or other relevant discipline (highly desirable)
    • Post-grad (advantageous)
    • Previous experience in sales into mining industry (5 year). Experience in slope monitoring would be an advantage.
    • Considerable commercial experience in mining, geotechnical monitoring, software/engineering, technology, heavy machinery or related industry
    • Proven successful track record in large new sales and business development (hunting skills) is essential
    • Ability to effectively partner with cross-functional teams, mobilising people via excellent communication and clear objectives, and demonstrating commitment to exceeding customer expectations
    • Previous track record working autonomously

    • An aptitude for developing plans and strategies to succeed
