Reporting to the Data and Analytics Manager, the Business Intelligence Developer’s role is to design, develop and deliver regular and on-off business information insights which aid decision-making. This individual is also responsible for building, deploying, updating and maintaining data support tools, reports, metadata inventories, and data definitions.
Responsibilities
Identify and validate internal and external data sets generated from a diverse range of business and operational processes
Investigate enterprise data requirements where there is some complexity and ambiguity
Plan data modelling and design activities, selecting appropriate techniques and the correct level of detail for meeting assigned objectives
Transform the results of analysis into information that can be communicated to stakeholders using dashboards and reports
Interpret and analyze data, perform comparative analysis, benchmarking, trend analysis
Bring data together to communicate clear themes and trends
Focus on data quality to provide confidence for making decisions on a single version of the truth
Support business intelligence needs of specific management or governance processes or operational areas
Ensure that business intelligence processes are robust, efficient and fit for purpose, focusing on automation, key controls and data quality. Advise on the available standards, procedures, methods, tools and techniques
Manage reviews of the benefits and value of business intelligence techniques and tools and recommend improvements
Contribute to the development of analytics policy, standards and guidelines

Qualifications
B.Sc. Honors (or higher) and experience with Microsoft Business Intelligence tools
Minimum five (5) years of related experience with the following:
Power BI data modelling, standard and paginated report development, workspace management, report and data security, row level security, self-service delivery
Microsoft Dynamics and Common Data Service / Dataverse
Strong understanding of dimensional data modeling using the Kimball methodology, including snapshot/transactional fact tables, role-playing, junk and conforming dimensions
Data Management and documentation techniques including: data classification, sensitivity labeling, data definitions, data lineage, data retention models
Technical experience with relational database servers, especially Microsoft SQL Server
TSQL Programming, direct queries, stored procedures & views
Microsoft Azure stack of data tools including: Data Factory, Data Lake, Synapse DevOps
Strong understanding of agile project and task management methodologies
Communicating with stakeholders at all organizational levels including top management
