Business Intelligence Developer at Telkom

Responsible to Full BI development cycle, end to end DataWarhouse and business intelligence analysing data, scripting reports, data extraction projects. Responsible for analyzing application relation incidents, requests and problems. Provide support and assistance to application users. Proactive improvement of applications and day-to-day operational activities which is 24/7.

Qualifications:

• 3 year Bachelors Degree or equivalent qualification (NQF level 6). Preferably IT, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering.

Experience:

• 5 years application BI experience using on OLAP and ETL frameworks. Telecommunications experience advantageous. TM Forum API and Process understanding advantageous. Technical/ Systems design experience would be an advantage.

Special Requirements:

• Full BI development cycle, an understanding of how to implement end to end DataWarhouse and business intelligence projects
• In-depth understanding of database management systems,OLAP and ETL framework
• SQL database for table creation and data optimization
• Advanced TSQL to write complex queries
• DataWarehouse design (dimensional modelling, architecture, data mining)
• Translate business needs to technical specifications
• Designing, developing, deploy, documenting and maintaining BI solutions
• Design and develop data mappings and ETL scripts
• Dashboarding
• Evaluate and improve existing BI systems, tools, maintenance and procedures
• Designing and implementing reporting solutions
• Aligning key performance indicators, reporting and analytics.
• Develop and update business & technical documentation
• Writing relational and multidimensional database queries
• Debugging, monitoring and troubleshooting BI solutionsBe able to work on multiple projects.
• Must be able to solve problems, analyze incidents and attend to customer queries.
• Must be prepared to work long hours and overtime including weekends.
• Great OO skills, including strong design patterns knowledge.
• Development and delivery experience with Java.
• Experienced with using source control in a collaborative team setting.
• Ability to communicate technical ideas to business users and other teams.

• Experience in high-volume, fast moving, deadline-driven studio environment.
