• The FIX is looking for a vibrant Buying Manager to oversee the Buying function.

Your eat-sleep-breathe; dream-fashion-job responsibilities will include:

• Active participation and involvement with regards to strategy - keep us lit
• To procure and strategize product ranges in line with the business vision – combine dress-up know-how with crystal-ball brain power to stay ahead of the curve
• To effectively oversee and manage the buying function including the allocated budget – sassy, savvy spending and negotiating skills
• Planning and implementing brand plans to ensure that strategic objectives are executed – it’s all in the delivery
• Ensuring that buy-plans are well detailed and clearly understood by team members and relevant stakeholders – fashion greatness lies in the savage detail
• Ensuring that merchandise sourced is aligned with the buying strategy - obvs
• Influence Supplier strategy to ensure alignment to company objectives – our vibe drives our tribe, we’re picky like that
• Direct Sourcing (Imports) and development of Local Supply Chain – keep your friends close #dowhatsright
• Maintain and ensure effective relationships with suppliers and various other stakeholders – be your irresistible self
• Ownership and accountability demonstrated to ensure the growth of the business – just own it, bae
• Competitor awareness and knowledge integrated into strategy decisions – stay woke

You will need:

• Proven working experience as a Buying Manager
• An entrepreneurial, merchant-style of thinking with strong business acumen / trader mentality
• Understanding and proven track record of Quick Response to market
• Be open minded, customer-centric, proactive
• Have a value mindset, speed & agility and a can-do mentality J
• Operate in stealth mode – keep abreast of competitor activity, market trends, best practice.
• An interest in and sound knowledge of current issues facing the retail industry
• An ability to persuade and influence at various levels across the business
• Display consistent behaviour and clear personal values in line with that of the Group
• Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills
• Excellent planning and organising skills
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills
• A working knowledge of MS Office Suite and buying systems
