C# Developer SLS :SanlamConnect Bellville at Sanlam Group

Purpose of the Role

• The successful developers will partner with product teams from concept and technical design through to deployment, owning code repositories in GitHub, analysing change requests, shaping forward-thinking solutions, providing effort estimates, building and testing artefacts, performing interface testing on integrated systems, troubleshooting complex issues, supporting Testers through to Production implementation, maintaining system and data-model documentation, performing root cause analysis, and providing functional support – including standby/after-hours support where required.

Overview of Role Responsibilities

• Support projects and BAU Teams from concept, technical design through deployment emphasising scalable and maintainable code
• Manage code repositories and version control using GitHub
• Analysis of change requests received
• Provide recommendations and cost or man-day estimates for implementing changes Test own programs or artefacts to ensure correctness
• Test Interfaces to other systems
• Debugging of programs
• Provide test information to Testers
• Implement changes into the Production environment
• Document changes implemented and programs
• Updates of data model documentation
• Problem solving, root cause analysis and user assistance (functional)
• Technical support or assistance to others on own programs or systems
• Provide standby or support (if and when applicable)

Qualificationa

• Matric
• Relevant IT Qualifications (degree or diploma)

Experience

• Minimum 5 years working with C# on the .NET Framework, plus exposure to SQL Server, microservices architecture, React (front-end), testing frameworks (NUnit / MSTest), web and cloud-native applications, and application monitoring/observability tools.

Experience with:

• Database technologies (SQL Server, etc.) Microservices architecture
• Front-end frameworks (React)
• Testing frameworks (e.g., NUnit, MSTest)
• Web applications, cloud-native applications, and cloud-based applications

Knowledge and Skills

• Strong proficiency in C# and the .NET Framework, with a solid grounding in OOP. 
• Familiarity with HTML, CSS and JavaScript, software design patterns and engineering best practices. 
• Experience in Agile (Scrum / Kanban) environments, basic UML (Class, Activity, ER diagrams). 
• Working knowledge of core AWS services (strongly recommended) and exposure to the Financial Services industry (advantageous).
