Chief Audiologist Grade 1 at Western Cape Department of Health and Wellness

REQUIREMENTS:

• Appropriate qualification that allows registration with HPCSA as Audiologist or Speech Therapist and Audiologist
• Registration with HPCSA as Audiologist or Speech Therapist and Audiologist
• A minimum of 3 years appropriate experience as Audiologist after registration
• HPCSA accredited Additional Training in Cochlear Implant Mapping and Rehabilitation
• Willingness to work overtime and be involved in research projects
• Competency in assessment and management of patients with hearing loss, severe to profound sensorineural hearing loss
• Good management, administrative, supervisory, problem-solving skills

DUTIES:

• Manage clinical caseload within Cochlear Implant Unit including Assessment and management of patients for cochlear implant candidacy, intra-operative and post-operative testing, programming (mapping) and rehabilitation
• Co-operate, train, consult and collaborate with outside agencies
• Assist with management of physical, financial and human resources in Cochlear Implant Unit
• Supervise staff and train under- and post-graduate Audiology students
• Undertake and participate in research
