Chief Draughtsperson at eThekwini Municipality

Job Purpose    

• To supervise draughting staff and provide a draughting and advisory service of a more comple nature and technical advice as required.

Key Responsibility Areas    

• Supervises, allocates work to subordinate staff and assists staff with work related queries.
• Supervises training programmes and the compilation of procedure notes for subordinate  staff.
• Undertakes quality control checks of all tasks carried out in the relevant branches and reporting of discrepancies to management.
• Prepares and submits activity related progress reports.
• Researches and develops latest work-related software.
• Maintains and updates consolidated draughting database records.
• Completes job costings and prepares quotations based on a range of customer requests.
• Archives data and retrieves completed work from database storage.

Essential Requirements    

• Diploma (NQF Level 6) in Geomatics or GIS or any other related and equivalent qualification.
• Valid motor vehicle driving license
• 5 Years relevant experience.
• Computer literacy in MS Office and or Auto CAD or any other related software packages.
