JOB SUMMARY

• To provide strategic oversight and direction of the Finance department in order to deliver long-term organisational objectives in line with regulatory and legal requirements.
• The incumbent will be accountable for the development and execution of the Group’s financial strategy, financial reporting, governance framework, risk management practices and financial controls to ensure organisational sustainability, growth and financial stability.

REQUIREMENTS

Minimum Qualifications

• CA(SA)
• MBA - Advantageous
• CFA - Advantageous

Minimum Experience

• Minimum 12 - 15 years’ experience in corporate finance and financial management
• 5 - 7 years’ experience in a senior management or executive leadership role
• Demonstrable experience in financial strategy development and execution

DELIVERABLES: 

• Lead and execute the Group’s financial strategy to support sustainable growth, profitability and long-term business objectives.
• Serve as a key member of EXCO and provide strategic financial guidance to the CEO, Board and senior management.
• Oversee the preparation, management and monitoring of annual budgets, forecasts and financial plans.
• Ensure the accurate and timeous delivery of financial reports, models and analyses that support business decision-making.
• Oversee all finance and accounting operations including financial reporting, procurement, payroll, projects, revenue cycle management and financial controls.
• Promote operational efficiency, continuous improvement and financial accountability throughout the organisation.
• Manage investment planning and funding initiatives to support business growth and expansion.
• Ensure compliance with financial regulations, statutory requirements, tax legislation and corporate governance standards.
• Lead the successful completion of annual audits and SARS submissions.
• Identify, assess and mitigate financial risks while ensuring appropriate financial controls are embedded across the Group.
• Provide oversight and direction for finance-related policies, procedures and governance frameworks.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with investors, auditors, financial institutions and other external stakeholders.
• Drive collaboration across business units to support operational excellence and financial performance.
• Lead, coach and develop a high-performing finance team, ensuring talent development, succession planning and employee engagement.
• Establish meaningful performance measures and reporting frameworks to monitor business performance against strategic objectives.
• Ensure complete, accurate and timeous reporting with appropriate levels of escalation to enable effective decision-making.
