    Chief Information Officer

    Chief Information Officer - CIO -  6 Months Contract   to be responsible for providing strategic ICT vision and operational information technology (IT) leadership and will be accountable for directing, planning, organizing and controlling the ICT function.Strategically plan as well as manage the overall Information and Communication Technology functions and operations to meet the organisation objectives in the most cost-effective manner.


    • Oversee the development and execution of the IT strategy and overall responsibility of direction setting and management of IT function.
    • Oversee the effective IT programme management and project management delivery capabilities.
    • Manage IT risk and security and governance.
    • Drive process/system improvements to optimise systems functionality to achieve organisational goals.
    • Manage key external and internal relationships.
    • Lead and drive IT financial management.
    • Manage identified and ad-hoc ICT projects
    • Plan, develop, implement and review ICT Strategy with due consideration of Enterprise Architecture principles of the organisation in order to ensure that all ICT initiatives are aligned to, and support the strategic objectives of the organization. [A1] 
    • Identify, scope and effectively manage all ICT projects in order to ensure that they are delivered within budget, quality, time so as to meet the business requirements.
    • Also add ICT governance – Plan, develop and implement comprehensive ICT governance
    • Develop and implement ICT Service Management framework based on best practices and standards to ensure that ICT services are delivered in line with business expectations.
    • Reporting to an array of governance structures within the organisation. 
    • Develop or review, and implement ICT Continuity plan to ensure that the organisation's information resources are protected so as to ensure uninterrupted business operations .
    • Ensure that Contingency and Risk Planning is developed and implemented.
    • Manage the departments' human resources function in order to ensure optimal performance and thereby facilitating achievements of the business objectives.
    • Set up and manage the department’s budget in order to ensure appropriate allocation and optimal use of resources in line with the business plan.

    ICT Governance            

    • Plan , develop and implement ICT governance

    Business Analysis

    • Determine current and future ICT needs of the organisation.
    • Consult with various stakeholders in order to determine requirements.
    • Constantly analyse the business environment in order to determine if the current systems are relevant to the business requirements.
    • Develop and secure technological solutions to satisfy business needs.
    •  Provide guidance to executive and senior management with regards to ICT issues.

    Strategy and Policy Development   

    • Direct and prepare ICT Policies.
    • Plan strategic developments and ensure that implementation of ICT strategies are implemented.

    ICT Environmental Management

    • Ensure that the ICT environment is set up and managed according to required standards.
    • Direct activities to select and install ICT infrastructure requirements.
    • Direct the integration of ICT operations into the business.

    Security Management

    • Control all ICT security aspects.
    • Advise business on ICT security aspects.
    • Ensure that ICT security standards are in line with business requirements and implemented accordingly.
    • Ensure that contingency and risk planning is developed and implemented.

    Quality Assurance

    • Prepare guidelines and evaluate client's  ICT systems against South African and International standards and performance criteria.

    Project and Operations Management

    • Oversee the planning and implementation of new or modified systems within the organisations overall ICT framework.
    • Ensure that project plans are drafted for all new initiatives and project are completed within the specified timeframes and budget.

    Resource Management

    • Ensure that all ICT related contracts are managed according to Service Level Agreement (SLA) requirements.
    •  Manage the ICT budget effectively.
    • Ensure that all ICT resources are managed as required.

    Qualification and Experience

    • Matric - Grade 12 
    • Relevant undergraduate qualification (NQF 7) and a post graduate qualification in in Computer Science, Information System, Business Administration or related field.
    • A minimum of 8-10 years of  experience  at senior management level position.

    • Knowledge of Communication Technologies including broad casting
