Civil Design Engineer (Municipal Engineering) at GIBB Engineering and Architecture

Core Purpose

To carry out the planning, design, site supervision and construction monitoring for both internal and external municipal infrastructure (water, and sewer, roads and stormwater including stormwater management plan) for existing and new developments for both Private and Public Sector Clients.

Compilation of Tender Documentation including Conditions of Contract, Specifications, Bills of Quantities and Tender Drawings.

 Key Performance Areas

• Implementation of Municipal Infrastructure Design
• Plan, organize and control specific technical tasks
• Ensure adherence to the Quality Management System
• Keep abreast of Technical best practice
• Prepare and present Technical Reports
• Investigate and make recommendations on alternate solutions to engineering problems
• Successfully train and mentor junior engineers

 Job Requirements

 Qualifications:

• BSc/BEng/BTech Civil Engineering
• PREng/PRTech
• 6yrs relevant experience after qualification
• ECSA Professional Registration (advantageous)

 Experience:

• Competent at Infrastructure Design of Municipal Services (water, sewer, roads, stormwater)
• Knowledge of Infrastructure Funding
• Competent at preparing Tender Documentation
• Competent at Construction Administration
• Competent with Civil Designer and/or Civil 3D
