Civil Engineering Assistant (24 Months Fixed Term Contract)
National Diploma/B-Tech/BSc/BEng Civil Engineering or equivalent
Minimum Experience: 5-8 years ‘Experience in Civil Engineering Construction/ Pipelines
Wayleave, Servitudes, Encroachment experience.

Primary Duties
Assist senior engineers on aspects of larger, more complex, multidisciplinary projects.
Take responsibility for data capturing, collating condition assessment reports and interfacing between various internal stakeholders.
Works within the generally provided Rand Water engineering guidelines, based on an understanding of the company and its overall goals, but understands the underlying spirit of these standards and can adapt them to fit specific needs.
Liaises with various Stakeholders to manage data and information and way leave applications related to Rand Water’s servitudes.
Liaises with other specialists such as quality assurance specialists, financial specialists, condition assessment service providers and socio-geographic specialists etc, to ensure an optimal end product.
The individual makes responsible decisions on matters assigned, including recommendations regarding the establishment of professional engineering standards and procedures and asset management databases and GIS interfacing.
Work is carried out within broad guidelines requiring conformity with overall objectives, relative priorities and necessary cooperation with other units
