Minimum Requirements

• Applicants must be in possession of a Tertiary degree qualification in the engineering discipline such as;BEng/BSc/BTech;
• Professionally registered as Technologist/ Technician/ Engineer; (PrEng/PrTech) with ECSA will be an advantage;
• Project Management Diploma/ Certificate will be an advantage;
• 5 -10 Years experience in site supervison of construction projects projects ; project administrative/ contract management environments;
• Proven communication skills, strong influencing skills, and stakeholder management skills.
• Water Industry experience.

Primary Duties

• Ensure that all the Rand Water Project Management Standards are adhered to during construction.
• Perform engineering duties in planning, designing, and overseeing construction of infrastructure related projects.
• Assist in the supervision, inspection and approval of work done on a project, and ensure that it adheres to approved specifications. Must use their expertise to evaluate construction projects and determine the best engineering method or practice to accomplish the job.
• Apply conceptual thinking in order to optimize a project.
• Guide the Project Manager on technical related matters on projects, and to then select and apply the most suitable engineering techniques to solve problems.
• Liaise with contractors, colleagues and/or other specialists such as quality assurance specialists,financial specialists, to ensure a successful project execution and handover.
• To act in a lead role in project technical meetings and may have the sole responsibility for progress and other report writing.
• Outlines and assigns work, reviews it for technical accuracy and adequacy, and may plan, direct, coordinate and supervise the work of other professional and technical staff (including contractors).
• Oversee Compliance: The incumbent must make sure his/her projects adhere to all contractual,legislative and industry specific requirements.

Minimum Requirements

• Grade 12 and N4 Electrical Engineering
• Certified competency as an Electrician – Trade Test and Switching of MV Certificate
• At least 2 years’ electrical experience in role or a similar role

Primary Duties

• Conduct daily inspection of Electrical equipment’s under his/her control.
• Ensure that the correct tools are used to complete tasks.
• Ensure that all planned Electrical maintenance schedules are performed timely and accurately.
• Ensure that materials and equipment are available for the shift’s requirements.
• Assist in maintaining instrumentation equipment in area of responsibility.

Primary Duties

• Assist senior engineers on aspects of larger, more complex, multidisciplinary projects.
• Take responsibility for data capturing, collating condition assessment reports and interfacing between various internal stakeholders.
• Works within the generally provided Rand Water engineering guidelines, based on an understanding of the company and its overall goals, but understands the underlying spirit of these standards and can adapt them to fit specific needs.
• Liaises with various Stakeholders to manage data and information and way leave applications related to Rand Water’s servitudes.
• Liaises with other specialists such as quality assurance specialists, financial specialists, condition assessment service providers and socio-geographic specialists etc, to ensure an optimal end product.
• The individual makes responsible decisions on matters assigned, including recommendations regarding the establishment of professional engineering standards and procedures and asset management databases and GIS interfacing.
• Work is carried out within broad guidelines requiring conformity with overall objectives, relative priorities and necessary cooperation with other units

• Daily updating of outgoing wayleave spreadsheet accurately.
• Make use of the online system daily.
• Compiling of wayleave pack for external stakeholders within upon the submission of request.
• Daily follow ups to external stakeholders regarding the progress of wayleave approval
• Daily submission of valid wayleave approvals to the Project Managers and Land Surveyors and notifying them of expiry date of wayleave approval.
• Daily update of the spreadsheet for any changes on outgoing wayleaves.
• Weekly submission of steering committee report Line Manager
• Bi-weekly submission of updated wayleave progress spreadsheet
• Daily record of outgoing wayleave information
• Daily submission of wayleave application approvals and general correspondence to archive
• Attend site meetings; liaise with Project Managers
• Keep abreast of new information and technology
