    Claims Clerk: Validations (Santam Agri)

    What will you do?

    • This career opportunity is available at Santam Agri for a Claims Clerk: Validations, who will be based in Bloemfontein. 
    • The purpose of this role is to validate assessments on the Assessment Portal, register claims, assign assessments, and support Area managers and assessors with the Assessment App to ensure the accurate and timeous processing of Agri Crop Insurance claims.

    What will make you successful in this role?

    Validation on Assessment Portal:

    • Analyse factual issues relating to assessed claims.
    • Use validation program to validate assessed % damages.
    • Use judgement in making appropriate decisions.
    • Identify errors and action calculations by hand with all the data.
    • Provide corrections to Claims Adjudicator to action correction on Admin system.
    • Communicate differences to Area Manager to inform insurer.

    Register claims and assign assessment:

    • Register claim on Broker Portal as requested by insurers, Area managers or intermediary.
    • Assign assessment on assessment Portal as requested.

    AGRI App Support;

    • Provide support to all Area Managers and assessors to upgrade/install new versions of the assessment App.

    Testing new development;

    • Conduct continuous testing of different crops according to procedures on the assessment App (improvements/changes/new development).

    Analysis;

    • Ability to apply crop insurance policy conditions to the claims environment.
    • Full understanding of the crop assessment process.
    • Have an in-depth understanding of technical and legal aspects impacting on the policy’s operation.

    Client Liaison (Internal and External)

    • Respond to queries and resolve to the satisfaction of the affected parties within the scope of authority and / or responsibility.
    • Maintain and adhere to service levels
    • Prepare for and attend meetings.

    General Administration;

    • Produce reports when required.
    • Attend to daily administrative routine tasks in accordance with organisational standards, processes and procedures.
    • Attend to the typing of general correspondence if and when necessary.

    Qualification and Experience;

    • Matric
    • 2 – 3 years claims assessment experience 
    • Comprehensive understanding and experience of claims assessment processes and process workflow, preferably in crop claims/insurance.
