Clerk Of Works - Durban at eThekwini Municipality

Job Purpose    

• Coordinates sequences associated with the Roads Provision Department, reading plans, contract documents, monitoring roads- works and drainage, and preparing reports/ sketches and necessary correspondence/ documentation (monthly payments and final accounts).

Key Responsibility Areas    

• Co-ordinates the implementation of procedures and monitors Contractor/Teams to ensure compliance with standards and specifications for Roads Provision.
• Reads plans, contract documents and supervises work, verifying work is detailed and properly executed.
• Undertakes the preparation of all documents including reports, sketches, and the amplification of measurements.
• Assists the Engineer/Technologist in the preparation of contract documentation.
• Informs technical/professional personnel of issues of non-conformity or problems on site and forwards details of observations and findings to facilitate problem solving sequences.
• Attends site meetings with contractors and Councillors.
• Undertakes other projects and assignments as required.

Essential Requirements    

• Trade Tested Artisan.
• Valid motor vehicle driving license.
• 2 Years relevant experience.
