Job Description

MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB

To plan and facilitate identified training and development interventions to ensure competency of all nursing staff.

KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS

• Develop the competence of all nursing staff
• Ensure the correct application of nursing procedures and policies
• Identify training needs to guide the development of appropriate clinical training interventions
• Promote a culture of continuous professional development

Required Education

ESSENTIAL EDUCATION : Degree/Diploma in General Nursing

DESIRED EDUCATION: Nursing Education Diploma; Unit specific certificate or diploma where appropriate (e.g. Emergency Centre / Operating Theatre / Critical Care Unit)

Required Experience

• ESSENTIAL MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: 2 years’ Clinical experience as a professional nurse
• DESIRED EXPERIENCE : 1-2 years’ experience as a peer mentor; 1-2 years’ experience as a Workplace assessor.
