Major tasks of the job

• Setting and operating of CNC Machine Centre
• Reading and understanding drawings
• Product Manufacturing Specifications (PMS) and Work Instruction (WI)
• Evaluating and following the process routine requirements
• Understand and know the machine operating system
• Understand the control panel of the CNC machine
• Selecting the correct CNC drilling program
• Setting collets according to the bits specification
• Correct locating of bits when clamping
• Changing bits and chuck and taking the right offset
• Adjusting the correct drilling speed and feeds
• Taking Z coordinates
• Performing the first off test
• Height adjustment setting (main program adjustment)
• Drilling operation and specifying the correct carbide colour
• Trouble shooting (drilling program)
• Copying program
• Editing program

Experience Requirement

• Minimum of 2 years relevant experience in the manufacturing environment

Knowledge

• Must be able to read drawings and perform basic mathematical calculations to calculate feeds and speeds for cutting tools
• Understand basic machine principles
• Basic knowledge of G-codes
• Knowledge of Mazatrol control will be an added advantage
• Ability to read measuring equipment

Educational Requirements

• Grade 12 qualification or qualified by experience.
