Reddford House The Hills is seeking to appoint a College Afrikaans Matric Teacher to join the school on a full-time, permanent basis from 1 January 2026. The successful candidate will adopt a holistic approach to the progress and wellbeing of students, create a positive learning environment, and motivate students to achieve their full potential in Afrikaans at Matric level.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Plan, prepare and present interesting and exciting Afrikaans lessons.
Establish a nurturing teaching environment that promotes engaged learning.
Demonstrate professionalism in punctuality, behaviour, quality of work, and homework expectations.
Evaluate, reflect on and refine teaching practice.
Be open to continuous professional development, both personally and school-wide.
Teach extra lessons, when required, on two afternoons per week.
Produce high-quality resources for students.
Respond to parent emails and messages within 24 hours.
Show loyalty to all facets of Reddford House The Hills.
Attend school special occasions at the discretion of the relevant Head.
Set and mark exams, assessments, and all other forms of student evaluation.
Write report comments.
Undertake any additional tasks as directed by Senior Management that are commensurate with the role.

Strong subject knowledge in Afrikaans.
Ability to judge learning effectiveness.
Excellent preparation and planning skills.
Ability to assess student outcomes and provide effective feedback.
Genuine care and attention for the highest standards of student welfare.
Minimum 2–5 years’ experience teaching secondary and post-16 students.
