    Commercial Finance Business Partner

    About the team

    The team in South Africa is highly motivated and focused on continuing FIS’ growth in the Sub-Saharan Africa region. You would be a key partner to the business in supporting that growth by owning strategic portfolios within the local operation, aided by global functional support teams and structures.

     

    What you will be doing

    Transformation and Black Economic Empowerment (BEE)

    • Actively participate as a member of the BEE Committee and ensure compliance of BEE legislation that relates to Procurement and Vendor management. Together with other key Mangers, be actively involved in all aspects of managing the BEE scorecard
    • Effective vendor management is a key accountability for the incumbent, in line with Procurement management for BEE
    • The incumbent will also be involved in the management and oversight of the FIS South Africa Employee Trust as a Company-appointed Trustee
    • Collaborate with the Corporate FP&A team to manage the BEE financial forecast and the budget

    Deal Planning and Structuring

    • Working within a team that provides assistance to the sales and legal teams in structuring and negotiating new contracts and addendums, promoting early engagement with the Deal Hub to view pricing, margins, structure and revenue recognition treatment for multi-faceted software license and services contracts.
    • Ensuring the appropriate revenue recognition for all revenue arrangements under US GAAP and company policy, escalate revenue recognition issues accordingly to Corporate Revenue Assurance.
    • Standardising, documenting, systemising Pricing across Groups; participating in the structuring of contracts with a laser focus on pricing requirements and impact.
    • Working with bid co-ordinator, proactively seek out and profile non-standard deals in the pipeline, co-ordinate reviews with stakeholders in the region and business unit to drive value through pricing and contract structuring.
    • Gain trust and confidence of key business and sales leaders in order to be brought into deal planning sessions and become a trusted advisor.
    • Preparation of contract write-ups for material license fee and services arrangements.
    • Work closely with Group CFOs and Business Unit FP&A teams concerning revenue forecasting, provide supporting data as required. Be a lead participant on sales calls to provide the bridge between sales and business unit Finance. Run connection calls with Group participants to communicate status, dependencies and risks on current deals in focus.

    Risk and Compliance

    • Be point person in South Africa for all risk-related matters, including involvement in the Social & Ethics Committee and interaction with Corporate RiSC department.
    • Assist in preparation of Board and Excom presentations
    • Work with People Office on any risk-related issues, as appropriate

    What you bring:

    • Finance-related Degree / Diploma and 6+ years’ relevant experience
    • Extensive knowledge and experience with Black Economic Empowerment legislation
    • Excellent communication skills (English) both verbal and written
    • Highly client-centric and service orientated, works well in a team environment
    • You will need a high degree of resilience and flexibility, and needs to be self-motivated
    • High comfort level working in a diverse environment

    • Excellent computer skills and proficient in MS Excel (advanced level essential), Word, Outlook
