We have a number of commercial lawyer opportunities within the business to enhance international companies contract management challenges. You will be part of the solution to these global companies and impart your knowledge and experience to make a significant difference.
Responsibilities:
Help manage and implement organizational data protection and oversee their Protection of Personal Information (POPI)/ General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) compliance
Assess legal position, answer questions, and plan an effective strategy to address labour issues
Interfacing with multiple contacts across various business units regarding contractual issues
Monitors general inboxes, addresses inquiries and/or forwards as appropriate
Risk assessment, contract analysis and comparisons
Client relationship management
Drafting contracts derogations documents between vendor and client
Contract review and comparisons
Requirements
Minimum of 2 years post-admission experience in creating, negotiating, reviewing, and drafting commercial contracts or agreements, including technology agreements
Minimum of 5 years corporate/commercial legal services experience post qualification
A well-rounded attorney with requisite experience in commercial law, corporate transactions, and compliance and governance
A good understanding of data-compliance laws such as POPIA and GDPR
An understanding of the regulatory framework in the technology industry
Interested in technology locally and abroad
Previous experience providing counsel and advice on Labour relations
Interfacing with multiple contacts across various business units regarding contractual issues
Advanced skills in Microsoft Office (Word - E.g. keyboard shortcuts; touch typing, familiar with mark-up/tracked changes, and Excel, etc.)
LLB Degree
Ability to interpret and summarise legal content
Good understanding of online technology systems – Web platforms, VPN’s, importing/exporting etc
Ability to translate metrics and analyse data
Experience in offering guidance on regulatory and compliance matters
Experience in formulating complex playbooks/handbooks/policies
Experience in establishing best practices and enhancing contract review processes
Excellent time management and proven ability to multitask and ensure effective delivery of the priorities to meet targets, objectives, and deadlines
