Commercial Vice President at Communicate Recruitment

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Own and lead the enterprise-wide pricing strategy, ensuring alignment with broader commercial objectives.
• Benchmark market-related pricing and develop robust pricing models and frameworks.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Business Development, Finance, Costing, and Network teams to drive effective costing strategies.
• Lead the pricing governance process, ensuring compliance and structure across products and services.
• Conduct detailed competitive analysis and scenario modelling to inform pricing decisions.
• Build business cases for new market and product opportunities and support strategic decision-making.
• Provide commercial insight on market trends, technologies, and product performance to influence high-level decisions.
• Lead and manage RFP responses from a pricing and costing perspective.

What We’re Looking For:

• Proven experience in pricing strategy, commercial analytics, and product costing within telecoms, technology, or a related industry.
• Strong financial and business acumen, with experience in investment case development.
• Solid leadership and stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence at senior levels.
• Advanced analytical and modelling capability – scenario planning, cost analysis, value-based pricing.
• A collaborative, strategic thinker who thrives in a fast-paced, evolving environment.

What you will need:

• A relevant 3-year degree (NQF level 7) in Commerce, Finance, Economics, or a Statistical field.
• A postgraduate degree such as an MBA would be a strong advantage.
• 8+ years of experience in a commercial environment, with a strong focus on pricing, costing, and financial strategy.
• Demonstrated experience in designing and implementing market-aligned pricing frameworks.
• At least 3 years in a senior leadership or executive role, with proven ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and drive business outcomes.
• Solid track record of assessing new products or market opportunities from a commercial viability perspective.
