Commissioning and Testing Engineer at Howden

What needs to be done?

• Engineering tasks: Troubleshooting on and off site – inspections, condition monitoring. Resulting diagnoses and recommendation to be approved by senior staff. Working knowledge of Howden core range and AFN range fans. Proficiency in fan performance testing. Provide workable engineering solutions to problems experienced by both internal & external clients to ensure their needs are met.
• Documentation: Working knowledge of Centrifugal Fan Acceptance Standards, Standard Instructions and engineered components Purchase Specifications. Working knowledge of Howden Fan Design Manual – centrifugal and axial fans.
• Engineering Support: Attend to on-site engineering needs and problems with assistance if required.
• Customer relations: Attend to client queries with respect to existing equipment and promote Howden engineering excellence in the marketplace
• Compliance: Adhere to Sarbanes Oxley and AX controls.

What do you need to bring?

• B-Eng or BSc Degree in Mechanical Engineering
• 3 to 5 years’ experience in on-site trouble shooting of heavy machinery
• 3 years’ experience in heavy machine installation and commissioning.
• Fan aerodynamic performance testing
• Experience in rotating machinery
• Adapt to short deadlines & changing priorities
• Adapt to variable customer attitudes and requirements
• Computer literate – Microsoft Office Suite, Teams
• Good communication skills – spoken and written
• Working knowledge of Autodesk AutoCad and Inventor.
• Must be able to travel as and when required.
