Company Secretarial and Legal Advisor at Mediclinic

MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB
To provide in-house expert advice on Corporate and Commercial law and related Codes and Regulations, and perform company secretarial duties as per the company's requirements.

KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS

• Provide legal, corporate governance and compliance support
• Perform company secretarial duties
• Co-ordinate shareholder communication and maintain records
• Assist with sustainable development initiatives

Required Education

• ESSENTIAL EDUCATION: LLB, CIS or other legal qualification
• DESIRED EDUCATION: Admitted Attorney/ Advocate of the High Court of South Africa

Required Experience

• ESSENTIAL MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: 3-5 years as Legal Advisor in a law firm and/ or Company Secretary
• DESIRED EXPERIENCE: LegaL Advisor and/ or Company Secretary within a listed company environment; experience in a dual listed/ multinational environmnet; experience in corporate and sustainability reporting

Required Job Skills And Knowledge

• Computer literate (Microsoft Office)
• Drafting of shareholder notices (RNS/SENS)
• Annual corporate and sustainability reporting of listed companies
• Contract drafting and vetting
• Corporate governance
• Corporate actions
• Corporate law (especially Companies Act), company secretarial practices and governance guidelines
• Drafting of policies
