    Computer Applications Technology (CAT) Subject Assessor

    Description

    • The Subject Assessor role is primarily responsible for grading formative and summative assessments, calculating grades, invigilation and providing students with meaningful feedback to improve their competencies. The incumbent should be extremely detail orientated, passionate about helping students succeed, well organised, and familiar with online learning management systems. Please note that this is a part-time position.


    DAY-TO-DAY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

    • Grade formative and summative assessments for a diverse student body catering for the needs of learners, possible learning barriers, literacy, language, and culture.
    • Evaluate students' understanding of the subject matter by comparing their answers to the marking guidelines.
    • Provide students with meaningful and constructive feedback, which will deepen their understanding and associated skills in the relevant subject area.
    • Calculate marks for formative assessments and cycle tests, and capture final grades.
    • Submit grades within delineated timelines.
    • Liaise with the Senior Teacher to ensure formative assessments and cycle tests are moderated upon completion of grading.
    • Update student records with key insights gleaned from the grading of formative assessments and cycle tests.
    • Report errors and omissions that may be detected in marking guidelines.
    • Supervise the students during their cycle tests exams and ensure that regulations are met.

    Requirements

    • Studying towards a teaching qualification or bachelor's degree in Biology/ similar subject area.
    • Demonstrable experience assessing similar subject matter.
    • Adherence to predetermined assessment-related deadlines.
    • Excellent written, and verbal communication skills.
    • Excellent interpersonal skills.
    • Adept in a technological environment.
    • Knowledge of online learning management systems.
    • Must be comfortable working remotely and independently.
    • Stable internet connection, and your own laptop required.
    • Police clearance required.

    Tech requirements:

    • Candidate’s own laptop is advantageous.
    • A stable internet connection.
