    Description

    • The Subject Assessor role is primarily responsible for grading formative and summative assessments, calculating grades, invigilation and providing students with meaningful feedback to improve their competencies. The incumbent should be extremely detail orientated, passionate about helping students succeed, well organised, and familiar with online learning management systems. Please note that this is a part-time position.


    DAY-TO-DAY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

    • Grade formative and summative assessments for a diverse student body catering for the needs of learners, possible learning barriers, literacy, language, and culture.

    Pre College Certificate | Learning Designer

    Description

    • The Learning Designer role at Valenture Institute is primarily responsible for curating, augmenting, creating, and quality assuring secondary school course content and assessments that are suitable for high-touch online delivery; as well as working on the development of supplementary curriculum that is centered on developing 21st century skills. The incumbent will play a vital role in ensuring that the development of content is relevant to the learning cohort, of high quality and; developed within the required timelines and the scope of the project.
    • The Learning Designer role includes but is not limited to the following day-to-day responsibilities:

    Responsibilities

    Learning Design

    • Use subject specifications to ensure that content meets the required client standards, and determine the adequacy or inadequacy of content.
    • Conduct planning and analysis per subject area, and per theme area, to recommend appropriate design solutions and strategies for online delivery.
    • Analyse the characteristics of Valenture’s LMS and emerging technologies and use the unique affordances of these technologies to make design decisions.
    • Transfer textbook-based and online content into a richly augmented format that meets online delivery objectives.
    • Develop educational content from scratch, making use of various sources, into a richly augmented format that meets online delivery objectives.
    • Research and source appropriate reference materials for the development of courses.
    • Work with subject matter experts and collaborate with production specialists to create targeted content in a wide variety of mediums to complement or support the curriculum.
    • Design and create targeted continuous assessment strategies that support students in their progression towards their summative examinations.
    • Work with project management and various operational stakeholders to ensure that deadlines are adhered to and that project communication takes place in a timely and effective manner.
    • Work on evaluation strategies to review the effectiveness of a design strategy, and review content at set intervals as part of Valenture’s approach to continuous improvement.
    • Perform quality assurance on peers’ work. Contribute to department and division process design and training.
    • Perform auxiliary tasks, including, but not limited to briefing in graphics, and tracking the use of external assets.
    • Assist with the onboarding of new recruits.
    • Contribute to department process improvements.

    Requirements

    • A Bachelor's Degree in Education, Instructional Design, English, Journalism or related experience in specific subject area
    • Demonstrable experience as a Learning Designer, Instructional Designer, or Curriculum Developer
    • Teaching or training background, and familiarity with working with students aged 15 - 18 years.
    • Knowledge of digital learning principles and practices
    • Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy
    • Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, and build collaborative work relationships
    • Experience in working with cross functional teams and proven ability to conduct themselves in a professional manner

    Description

    Requirements

    • A Bachelor's Degree in Education, Project Management, Instructional Design, PGCE or related experience
    • Proven skills and experience in learning design and the development of student-centred digital learning experiences and resources
    • Knowledge of digital learning principles and practices, as well as current and future trends in digital technologies
    • Demonstrated project management skills in the development of digital content for online courses

    Product Owner

    Description

    • The Product Owner is responsible for creating, prioritising and managing tasks on the Learning Technology Product Development backlog. The incumbent will work closely with Student Success, Faculty, Learning Design, and the Systems and Technology teams to ensure that the Valenture Institute’s learning technology (tech) stack meets the functional needs of internal and external users (students, parents and staff). The tech stack includes Canvas, Moodle, Salesforce, the Valenture Campus GSuite, Zoom and the various educational applications in use. This role reports to the Head of Learning Technology. Day-to-day responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Scoping and defining requirements from business stakeholders and creating backlog tickets for products, processes and features needed by Valenture Institute.
    • Managing and ensuring full capability and compatibility of all new and existing learning and knowledge sharing systems, tools, and integrations, including cloud-based/mobile environments.
    • Managing the relationships with third party instructional technology vendors and partners to manage and enhance the use of systems.
