    Senior Automation Engineer - Johannesburg

    Job Description

    • Support internal and external customer queries for Industry Business, Global Operations.
    • Provide technical support and consult with customers in order to provide sound solutions and professional advice in the area of the Industry Business (PLCs, HMIs, SCADA and Industrial Networks).
    • Familiar with Schneider PLCs ranges i.e. M580, M340, worked on control expert
    • SCADA experience Citect 
    • EcoStruxure process expert (EPE) exposure would be advantages
    • Build strong professional relationships with team members to create a collaborative, supportive environment in order to achieve optimal team performance and establish positive team morale.
    • Build strong professional relationships with customers (internal and external) to provide premium service to ensure customer satisfaction and Schneider Electric Brand reliability.
    • Comprehend and understand the Schneider Electric Industry products in order to provide product support, service and advice in the following fields:
      • Engineering tasks and processes
      • Product licenses
      • Product and application upgrades
      • Product and application support.
      • Sales support
      • Industry solutions
      • Grasp and understand enterprise solutions
      • Focused on application and product improvement.
      • Keep up to date with product improvement and technology offers.
      • Consult clients on improvement initiatives and be value-driven.
      • Effectively communicate with stakeholders (internal and external).
      • Listening and understanding constraints and turning it into improvement opportunities.

    Qualifications

    Qualifications / Experience:

    • Bachelors degree in Engineering (Electrical, Electronic / Mechatronics or similar), Computer Science or equivalent
    • 3-5 years’ experience with programming and configuring SCADA software packages, PLC platforms, Microsoft Operating Systems, Industrial Communications and Industrial Networks.
    • Experience dealing with customers and managing customer relationships to ensure future business and customer satisfaction and support.
    • Writing technical reports
    • Experience with health and safety regulations, completing safety risk analysis reports and audits

    Knowledge / Skills:

    • Strong PLC knowledge, control systems experience and SCADA systems.
    • Knowledge of M580 PLC and control expert
    • Wonderware knowledge & experience
    • Knowledge of structured programming, communication techniques and protocols.
    • Knowledge of Citect Scada and EcoStruxure process expert (EPE)
    • Knowledge of data communications protocols, networking equipment and computer operating systems.
    • Ability to prepare, read and understand technical documentation.
    • Ability to work effectively and diligently as an individual and team member to resolve complex faults.
    • Developed interpersonal and communications skills, including the ability to interact effectively with people of a different culture.
    • Flexible and able to manage multiple tasks and shifting priorities.
    • Ability to perform and make decisions in a stressful environment.
    • Must be self-motivated and organized.

    Customer Satisfaction and Quality Manager

    Role Overview: 

    The Customer Satisfaction and Quality Manager is responsible for providing leadership and management for customer satisfaction and Quality. The person in this role will manage the customer logistic offer, and interact with customers to develop, implement and administer programs regarding continual improvement of processes and customer satisfaction for the customers served by Pomona distribution center and MSEC Assembly Lines.

    The person in this role will focus on driving, leading and managing Customer Experience. Ensure highest quality standards are driving services End to End processes. Function as an internal auditor to manage and monitor quality. The major components to this role are the ability to directly interact with internal and external customers at multiple organizational levels, strong understanding of customer experience and quality controls.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Create a competitive logistic offer providing opportunity to increase sales and market share and increase customer satisfaction through:
      • An outstanding lead time offer
      • Customer capabilities, added value service
      • Differentiated offer per channel, VIP customer
    • Taking into account:
      • Expectations from the segments of customers (customer visits, OES, NSS, Customer Connect)
      • Strategy of the BU
      • MEA commercial logistic offer policy
    • Understand and share with countries the logistic offer environment in the territory: Customers segment needs, market values, competitor offers, local Schneider strategy & position in the market.
    • Manage and negotiate with Sales & Marketing the logistic offer to the distributed markets to create value for the Customer and develop Schneider differentiation.
    • Drive, with Sales, collaborative initiatives with the main distributors to significantly increase growth and profitability by improving the supply chain efficiency.

    Be the Voice of the Customer:

    • Interact regularly with customers to better understand their expectations and concerns.
    • Represent the voice of customer and drive the customer centricity within the entity.
    • Influence the decision process of the entity to always consider the voice of the customers (Schneider Performance System, etc.)
    • Contribute to improving customer satisfaction and achieving quality goals by defining, implementing, and managing action plans.

    Quality Excellence:

    • Run Customer Service and Quality related processes (Issue to Prevention), Claim Management)
    • Drive Quality Excellence in Supply Chain (from Suppliers to Customers: receiving, picking, packing, shipping, transportation, returns, etc.)
    • Drive the relevant quality programs and methods (8D, Lean Six Sigma, SPS, etc.) to ensure continuous improvement.
    • Contribute to the Tailored Supply Chain implementation.
    • Suggest technology or new processes to minimize human error through automation.

    Quality System:

    • Network continuously with CS&Q teams to ensure their entity's needs are understood and considered.
    • Identify & capitalize on best practices in quality
