Construction Maintenance Manager at Macdonald & Company

Our client is a sectional title residential developer looking for a Maintenance Manager to oversee the maintenance and repairs of 1-2 residential complexes with 400 units each in the north coast of Durban and surrounding areas. The team has a 30-year track record of delivering over 20 000 sectional title homes across Gauteng, the Western Cape, and now KZN. The suitable candidate will have a vehicle and a license able to travel between different sites.

As a Maintenance Manager for the developer, your role will start with the snagging stage and include carrying out inspections to identify, assess and resolve defects; planning and coordinating repairs with stakeholders; supervising and signing off repairs; maintaining a maintenance schedule; obtaining quotations and keep a comprehensive database of contractors; submitting reports on the status of repairs as well as managing the costs and budgets related to maintenance.

The successful incumbent will be in possession of a construction related qualification, at least 3 years' experience in a residential construction environment with proven knowledge of plumbing, electrical and mechanical work. It is a MUST to have experience writing reports and managing budgets. Experience with high-end residential projects is not mandatory but preferable
