    Consulting – Human Capital – Organisation Transformation – Senior Manager

    Main Purpose of Job

    Senior Manager

    To support service / business area leadership in the implementation of strategic plan through the effective management of team/s. To promote our leadership capabilities which are living our purpose, influence, performance drive, strategic direction and talent development.

    • Ability to run with proposals. Pull together a team to support (cross service lines if needed), deal review and pricing, etc.
    • Ability to lead large engagements

    Key Performance areas

    Strategic Impact

    • Supports the implementation of the strategy of the Service Line / Business Area in relation to a specific areas of expertise
    • Implements the strategy within the area of responsibility by conforming to plans set by leadership in all engagements/projects including:
    • Sales Targets of R15m
    • Revenue targets of R15m
    • Utilisation expectation of >50%
    • Talent management
    • Communication to teams
    • Tracking of plans in engagements / projects 
    • Actively identifies sales opportunities in broader market
    • Contributes to preparation of proposals/tenders and presentation

    Client Impact: External / Internal

    • Maintains high level oversight of client engagements / projects
    • Forms appropriate judgements based on careful analysis to makes sound business decisions on engagements / projects
    • Develops productive, credible and trusting relationships with key players and their teams during assignments / projects
    • Builds a network of senior-level internal relationships across Deloitte to understand other business unit offerings and to market own area
    • Establishes and maintains strong relationships with external business leaders across industries

    Operational Effectiveness

    • Communicates detail of SLA’s to teams and maintains high level monitoring of adherence by all parties
    • Manages engagement/project risk through supervision of completion of required documentation and processes as mandated by RIL, as well as risk to client confidentiality
    • Leads / manages complex client engagements and maintains high level oversight of all engagements / projects within sphere of responsibility
    • Meets regularly with clients and teams to understand issues, anticipate needs and address these
    • Consistently drives improvement on deliverables through effective leadership
    • Keeps SL/BU leadership updated on status of all assignments

    Development/Growth of Team

    • Mentors and develops team members and counselees on an ongoing basis
    • Empowers managers through appropriate delegation of work
    • Demonstrates commitment to transformation agenda of the firm
    • Provides consistent recognition and encouragement to teams and leads by example

    Budgets / Profitability

    • Resources engagement teams with suitable talent, balancing correct levels and numbers and recruiting as necessary
    • Manages margins effectively through accurate budgeting, pricing and profitability management on engagements
    • Monitors that time and expenses to engagements are recorded and submitted weekly

    Differentiators for the role

    Change

    • Experience in applying and adapting global change methodology and tools to large business transformations, spanning multiple phases
    • Can lead and develop teams, reviewing and guiding their delivery and building their change management skills
    • Develops change management proposals independently, from scope and approach and commercial/ pricing
    • Experience in applying change management to key Technology growth areas – eg Salesforce/ Coupa/ WorkDay or Cloud Service providers such as AWS/ Google
    • Recognised as a thought leader/ contributor in the field of change management in and outside of HC
    • Scoping and planning of strategic change managements projects using Deloitte IP and methods to drive the clients’ change journey
    • Delivery of change management projects, including digital transformation and technology driven change
    • Supporting team members and guiding them through delivery on a client change journey

    Digital Adoption

    • Is “literate” (able to explain) digital technologies such as AI, Internet of Things, Blockchain, Software as a Service (SAAS)
    • Is able to simplify these concepts to create literacy in others- internally and at clients
    • Experience or understanding of the key elements of Digital Maturity Assessment
    • Experience in working in agile or devops environments
    • Experience in a digital transformation project
    • Experience in applying change management to key Technology growth areas – eg Salesforce/ Coupa/ WorkDay or Cloud Service providers such as AWS/ Google

    Organisation Design Functional Skills

    • Scoping and Planning of OD Projects using Deloitte IP and methods to frame the design process
    • Delivery of OD D3 Method Phases and management of the use of tools as appropriate. OrgVue/ AONA
    • OD Lab and Workshop design and facilitation at advanced level
    • OD Business case development and transition planning

    HR Transformation and Strategy

    • Scoping and Planning of HRT projects using Deloitte IP and methods to frame the design process
    • Delivery of HR Op Model and detailed design using OD method and HIHROM framework
    • HRT lab and workshop design and facilitation at advanced level
    • HR Strategy alignment, business case development and transition planning for HRT projects 

    Qualifications & Experience required 

    Required

    • Honours B Degree in either Organisational/ Industrial Psychology or Business-related degre
    • 10 - 12 years working experience

    Preferred

    • Master’s Degree relevant to Service Area / Business Management, etc.)
    • 10 - 12 years in a similar role to the required competence of areas, i.e., OD, Strategic Change, HRT, or leadership, preferably in an external client facing role; 5 of these in a management role
