RPO Recruitment's client, a leading specialist contractor within the commercial interiors, fit-out and turnkey construction sector is seeking an experienced Contracts Manager to join their Cape Town team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing projects from contract award through to completion, ensuring that projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget and to the required quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage multiple commercial interior fit-out and construction projects from commencement to practical completion.
Oversee project programmes, budgets, procurement and subcontractor performance.
Manage contracts, variations, claims, valuations and commercial matters.
Coordinate subcontractors, consultants, clients and internal project teams.
Monitor project progress, productivity, quality and compliance.
Ensure projects are delivered in accordance with drawings, specifications, contractual requirements and health & safety standards.
Attend and lead site, progress and coordination meetings.
Manage project documentation, reporting and close-out.
Identify and manage project risks and implement corrective measures where required.
Maintain strong client relationships and ensure a high level of service throughout project delivery.
Requirements:
Relevant Diploma, Degree or qualification in Construction Management, Building Science, Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying or a related field.
10+ years’ experience in construction, with significant experience in a Contracts Manager capacity.
Strong experience in commercial interiors, office fit-outs, retail, tenant installations, refurbishments or similar building projects.
Proven experience managing subcontractors and multidisciplinary project teams.
Strong knowledge of construction contracts, project planning, cost control and commercial management.
Excellent understanding of construction methodology, quality control and health & safety requirements.
Strong communication, negotiation and problem-solving skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Proficiency in MS Office and relevant construction/project management software.
Experience working on high-end commercial, corporate, retail or hospitality fit-outs.
Experience with turnkey project delivery.
Valid driver’s licence and own reliable transport.
