Coordinator Security Systems at Sasol

Purpose of Job

• Manage / Coordinate the Information technology infrastructure of all Security systems.  Liaise with all relevant IM stakeholders, provide support and solutions to the overall Sasol Business with regards to Access Control, CCTV, Intruder detection and CIMMS / OB online.

Key Accountabilities

System Management & Maintenance

• Oversee the daily operation of CCTV, access control, intruder alarms, and OB Online systems.
• Ensure all systems are fully functional, updated, and compliant with security protocols.
• Perform regular system health checks and preventative maintenance.

IT Infrastructure Coordination

• Manage the network infrastructure supporting security systems (e.g., switches, servers, storage.
• Collaborate with the IT department to ensure system compatibility and cybersecurity compliance.
• Troubleshoot and resolve hardware/software/network issues related to security systems.

Project Coordination

• Lead or support the implementation of new security technologies and upgrades.
• Coordinate with vendors, contractors, and internal teams for installations and integrations.
• Maintain documentation of system architecture, configurations, and changes.

Compliance & Reporting

• Ensure systems comply with internal policies and external regulations (e.g., POPIA, GDPR).
• Generate reports on system performance, incidents, and maintenance activities.
• Assist in audits and investigations by providing relevant footage or access logs.

User Support & Training

• Provide technical support to security personnel and other users.
• Train staff on the proper use of security systems and protocols.
• Develop user guides and SOPs for system usage.

Formal Education

• National Diploma (IT, Electronic Engineering, or related field).
• Certifications in security systems (e.g, CCTV system, Alarm systems, access control, CIMSS / OB online are advantageous.
• PSIRA Grade A (wish).
• NKP Accreditation (wish).
• Firearm Competency for Business Purposes (wish).

Working Experience

• Minimum 3 - 5 years experience in a Security technology / IT backbone of security technology role.
• Familiarity with cybersecurity principles is a wish.
• Valid Drivers’ license.
• Knowledge of technical risks.
• Investigation methodology (incl. digital forensics).
• Stakeholder engagement and briefing skills.
• Leadership and conflict resolution.
• Analytical thinking and report writing.
