Minimum Requirements

Essential qualifications:

• Formal accounting and finance qualifications (B Tech, B Com)

Desirable qualifications:

• B Tech, B degree (Honours) in accounting and Finance

Experience:

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in Accounting and Finance environments, with a strong focus on financial analytics, expertise in Budgeting   and Forecasting, excellent stakeholder management skills, and the ability to provide accurate financial reports crucial for informed decision-making.
• Computer Proficiency: Proficient in the use of various software, including SAP Financial Accounting, Cost Center Expenditure, Profit Center Expenditure, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, and Budgeting and Forecasting such as Business Consolidation and Planning (BPC

Primary Duties

• Guide and Supporting business portfolios to Meet financial objectives by preparing an annual budget; forecasts; analysing variances and initiating corrective actions.
• Assist with the overall planning and coordination of the Rand Water short and long term Financial Plan in line with strategic objectives of Rand Water and National directives
• Compliance with sound budgeting/accounting standards and practice and with applicable Rand Water policies, statutory and regulatory requirements
• Supports the Rand Water Portfolios, Divisions, Departments and Sections in strategic financial planning, monitoring, reporting, financial systems and all other financial advisory services
• Prepare the Management and Performance Reporting on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis for internal reporting to Management, Audit Committees and the Board of Rand Water
• Prepare inputs to the Medium term expenditure framework (MTEF), Estimates of National Expenditure (ENE) and DWS reporting
• Analyse different aspects of the business to provide sound financial advice based on cost driver information and various large data
• Perform monthly variance reports, analysing costs and cost drivers and continuous feedback to business on cost efficiency improvements, abnormal variances and advise on corrective actions
• Prepare and Analyse financial performance information at a corporate level for annual reporting
• Prepare External reports; Regulatory reporting requirements for Department of Water and Sanitation, National Treasury, Investors, etc.
• Adhoc projects allocated on audit queries, cost containments, financial analysis and Reporting, financial Systems improvements, and team initiatives
• Participate in team goals, and develop initiatives that will create value for team
