Costume Designers at Crew Life at Sea

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with the production team to create costume designs that align with the overall vision and theme of each production or event
• Research and source materials, fabrics, and accessories to bring the designs to life
• Create sketches, renderings, and specifications for each costume, including details such as fabric type, color, and trimmings
• Oversee the construction and fitting of costumes, ensuring accuracy and quality
• Collaborate with the hair and makeup team to ensure a cohesive look for each performer
• Manage costume budgets and track expenses
• Maintain and organize costume inventory, including repairs and replacements as needed
• Work closely with performers to ensure their comfort and mobility in their costumes
• Attend rehearsals and performances to make any necessary adjustments or repairs
• Stay up-to-date on current fashion trends and techniques to bring fresh ideas to the design process

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Costume Design or related field
• Minimum 2 years of experience in costume design, preferably in a theatrical or entertainment setting
• Strong knowledge of fabrics, sewing techniques, and costume construction
• Proficiency in design software such as Adobe Creative Suite or SketchUp
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Ability to work under tight deadlines and in a fast-paced environment
• Attention to detail and ability to multitask
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
