Purpose of the Role: The Counter Salesperson is the first contact for customers entering the store, providing excellent customer service, answering queries, and ensuring maximum customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities:
Greeting customers and taking orders
Possessing excellent product knowledge, particularly in lighting, to inform and increase sales
Following up on orders to prevent delays and customer frustration
Ensuring a clean and tidy counter
Ensuring that each customer leaves the store satisfied
Assisting all customers at the counter with their queries
Treating all customers with respect and courtesy
Counter sales, including quotations and queries
Maintaining own Back Order Report
Managing time effectively
Ensuring that specials and brochures are up to date on the Trade Counter
Additional responsibilities deemed necessary by management
Handling all telephonic sales quotations and queries
Loading/capturing all sales orders and quotations on the computer system
Managing all back orders and following up regularly
Advising customers of stock availability
Regularly monitoring all quotes given
Assisting when and where needed
