Customs Clearance Coordinator at Essity

About the Role

The Customs Clearance Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating the clearing and forwarding of Bought-In-Finished-Goods (BIFG) shipments and ensure timeous delivery of goods to the respective Warehouses.  This role will report directly to the Demand Planner.

What You Will Do

• Responsible for all clearing an forwarding Agent engagements, on time custom clearance, bookings and transport of all imported BIFG shipments;
• Ensure accurate completion of clearing instructions, validating tariff codes and ensure the tariff library is maintained;
• Track and schedule inbound shipments, keep all stakeholders informed and follow through on query resolution;
• Responsible for all document control;
• Ensure timeous capture of landed costs and supplier payments;
• Purchase Order (PO) management between all stakeholders;
• Timeous preparation and analysis of required reports and trackers;
• Ensure health and safety compliance in line with Essity standards,
• Support the Demand Planner with projects and general daily operational requirements.

Who You Are

• Must have matric with further qualification in Customs, clearing and forwarding or Supply Chain;
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in customs, imports, transport/logistics within a Manufacturing or FMCG medical device industry;
• Must have excellent computer skills, proficient in - Microsoft Office (especially Excel), SAP, APO/ERP Software;
• Must be organized, skilled in reporting with attention to detail, accuracy and be deadline driven;
• Must be a strong collaborator with good communication skills (verbal, written and listening) and be fluent in English;
• Must have the ability to drive performance, processes, and solutions forward.
