Cyber Security Specialist at Communicate Recruitment

• Our client is on the hunt for a Cybersecurity Engineer / Security Operations Lead to be the four-leaf clover in their security team. Your mission? To protect digital assets, enforce top-tier cybersecurity practices, and ward off any lurking cyber-goblins.
• As the guardian of their IT fortress, you’ll establish security policies, fine-tune advanced threat detection systems, and lead incident response efforts. You’ll also work closely with IT Operations to keep security measures as strong as an Irish stout. And best of all? You’ll lay the foundation for a dedicated in-house security team.

What You'll Be Doing:

• Implementing and maintaining endpoint protection, firewalls, SIEM, and intrusion detection systems.
• Monitoring security logs and investigating any suspicious activity (no leprechaun mischief goes unnoticed).
• Defining IAM policies to ensure the right people have the right access—no more, no less.
• Ensuring compliance with SOC2, ISO27001, GDPR, and POPIA (because rules matter, even on St. Paddy’s Day).
• Conducting security assessments, penetration testing, and vulnerability scanning.
• Fortifying email security to block phishing, malware, and spam.
• Implementing patch management to keep systems as fresh as a pint of Guinness.
• Training employees to recognize and avoid sneaky cyber scams.

Your Pot of Gold (a.k.a. What We’re Looking For):

• 5+ years of experience in IT security, cybersecurity engineering, or SOC operations.
• Hands-on experience with firewalls (Fortinet, Palo Alto, Cisco), SIEM tools (Splunk, Microsoft Sentinel), and EDR solutions.
• Knowledge of network security, cloud security (Azure/AWS), and encryption tech.
• Understanding of SOC2, ISO27001, and POPIA compliance frameworks.
• Experience with incident response, forensics, and threat intelligence.
• Strong scripting skills (Python, PowerShell, Bash) to automate security magic.
• Bonus Points (If You’ve Got These, You’re Truly Lucky!):
• Certifications: CISSP, CEH, CISM, Microsoft Security Operations Analyst.
• Experience with Zero Trust security models and IAM tools (Okta, Azure AD, Ping Identity).
• A background in ethical hacking and penetration testing.
