    Cybersecurity Specialist - Sandton

    Ivanhoe Mines SA (Pty) Ltd is looking for someone who will be responsible to protect the organizational infrastructure, such as computer networks and hardware devices, from unauthorized access and cyberthreats by actively developing protocols used to detect, respond and quell cyberattacks from cybercriminals and hackers seeking to cause damage or steal sensitive information.

    You will have the following:

    • A 3 Year National Diploma Information Technology discipline beneficial or equivalent with a, 
    • Valid Microsoft Engineer Certificate in server administration or equivalent (MCSE, MCITP, MCSA) a, 
    • Microsoft Azure Foundation Certification with a, 
    • Valid A+ & N+ certificate or equivalent and a, 
    • Valid Driver’s License with at least, 
    • 10+ years relevant experience in management of the Storage and Server (Physical / Virtual) Infrastructure including (but not limited to) Windows Environment.
    • 3+ years hands on experience with troubleshooting and providing support required in Virtual or Cloud platform (Azure) including backup and recovery of all systems.
    • Proven experience in overseeing the design, development, and implementation of server infrastructure.
    • Proven experience with systems planning, security principles, and general software management best practices.
    • Writing automation scripts with languages such as PowerShell and Bash/Shell.
    • Knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws.
    • Good project management skills.
    • Programming knowledge advantageous.

    • Your Key Performance Activities will include but not limited to: 

    Process: 

    •  IT Security solutions design and administration
    •  Monitor computer networks for security issues.
    •  Investigate security breaches and other cybersecurity incidents.
    •  Install security measures and operating software to protect systems and information infrastructure, including firewalls and data encryption programs.
    •  Document security breaches and assess the damage they cause.
    •  Work with the networking and system administrator team to perform tests and uncover network vulnerabilities.
    •  Conducting troubleshooting exercises as to ensure that potential risks are mitigated.
    •  Maintaining and enhancing existing and new toolsets (such as Darktrace) for mature active defense.
    •  Perform penetration testing.
    •  Fix detected vulnerabilities to maintain a high-security standard.
    •  Stay current on Information Technology (IT) security trends and news.
    •  Develop company-wide best practices for IT security.
    •  Internal Firewall Administration and Monitoring.
    •  Anti-Virus Administration and Monitoring.
    •  Email born threats, blocking of mail addresses or domains.
    •  Blocking of malicious web domains.
    •  Investigating domains and files in a sandbox environment.
    •  Management and monitoring of backups.
    •  Investigation of high impact incidents for Cyber Security / Malware.
    •  Administration of policies for Anti-Virus, Web Access and internal Firewall.
    • Continual validation and verification of infrastructure, platform, applications, and data asset controls to mature active defense processes.
    •  Conducting POC’s of security related software/hardware.
    •  Ability to detect insecure features and malicious activities within our networks and infrastructure.
    •  Implemention and Working with Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) applications.
