Dairy Application Technologist at AECI Limited

Job Description    
Lake Foods is looking to recruit a Dairy Application Technologist on a 12 month contract to work in Cape Town. To ensure succession of intellectual property and process in the Dairy Application Centre and development of new business initiatives.Lake Foods is the exclusive representative for leading international providers of specialty products and supplier of both manufactured and imported mineral processing aids. In addition to this, we offer an extensive product range of commodity additives for the bakery, beverage, confectionary, dairy, edible oil, health, meat, spice, sports and wine markets.

Duties & Responsibilities    

• Concept development of products in conjunction with Arla Food Ingredients, Budenheim and other Principals in the Lake portfolio.
• Work together with the Dairy Technical Manager to ensure smooth operation of the Dairy Application Centre.
• Comply with the correct procedures, policies and health and safety regulations.
• Plan, organize and conduct trials – analyse results and report findings.
• Maintain the DAC records.
• Stay abreast of industry trends, techniques and best practices.
• Act as a back-up should the Technical Manager not be available.
• Maintenance of sample stock.
• Retail sample surveys.
• Collect and prepare research and information needed for trial work.
• Undertake basic administrative tasks.
• Capability of formulating NPD and conducting pilot scale trials on dairy and other food products.

Qualifications & Experience    

• Matric / Grade 12.
• Bachelors degree in Food Science or NQF equivalent.
• Shift work may be a possibility.
