Dam Operator at Fraser Alexander (Pty) Ltd.

PURPOSE

To utilize required skills and knowledge by ensuring tailings dam is operated and maintained as per the required specifications and implement all standard safety practices to ensure health and safety of the employee's whist carrying out tailing's operations in a safe manner.

RESPONSIBILITIES 

• Manage deposition targets and standards
• Execute deposition plans
• Plan & manage materials and labour 
• Setting out work instructions
• Quality assurance
• Maintaining discipline and standards of teamwork
• Liaising with plant on a daily basis. Keeping and insuring, continuous and accurate record of all operational data and incidents
• Maintain a healthy and safe working environment in accordance with Occupational Health & Safety Act, Environmental and Waste management guidelines as well as    the Mine Health and Safety Act.
• Supervision of a labour force, including operational activities. This includes HR related issues as well as positive discipline
• The operation is of a 24/7 nature

SKILLS, QUALITIES AND ABILITIES REQUIRED

• Must be able to communicate in English

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS

• Grade 12
• Must be able to read and write
• Supervision training/ Mineral Processing will be advantageous
• Legal liability training

EXPERIENCE 

• Minimum 3 years in Mining Environment
• Experience in day wall Tailings operations
• Knowledge of Mine Health and Safety regulation & legal
• Carry out daily operational plans and implementation
• Ability to work without Supervision
