Data Architect at Clickatell

• Work closely with developers to define and evolve our data model, support data analytics activities, and ensure scalability.
• Design and implementation of highly scalable and high-availability systems of data, using AWS cloud services.
• Ensure data models and architectural patterns fit user and business requirements.
• Design and implement new data platforms to help adopt modern data solutions.
• Work closely with the data engineering team to design and implement data pipelines at the enterprise level
• Design, implement and document technical Big Data solutions using AWS Big Data services and solutions
• Consult with developers and engineers to find ways to increase efficiency
• Implementing AWS services in a variety of distributed computing, enterprise environments.
• As a Senior, play a thought-leadership role within the Communities of Practice (COP), supporting the Tech Leads in driving the vision of the COP Core Competencies. 
• Mentorship to less experienced developers and establishment of best practises.
• Convert business requirements into technical solutions.
• Perform problem resolution and root cause analysis along with recommending and implementing preventative techniques.
• Review existing ETL architecture and frameworks to improve performance, manage costs and drive efficiencies.
• Perform tests and produce results to ensure accurate compliance with business requirements.
• Manage priorities across design and development activities.
• Interact with technical and business stakeholders to create solutions and solve problems collaboratively
• Protect Clickatell’s information, intellectual property and corporate data systems in accordance with prescribed guidelines
• Familiarise yourself with all risk and compliance related policies and procedures as communicated by relevant functions
• Complete Risk and Compliance training as per internal requirements
• Ensure adequate protection of the Clickatell brand and reputation

Core Competencies:

• Experience and knowledge of AWS Big Data services. Athena, Redshift, Kinesis, Kafka, Glue, S3, Lake Formation
• Experience with one or more database technologies. MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, Oracle
• Experience and knowledge of BI tools and technologies. Talend, Power BI, SiSence
• Experience or knowledge of Big Data technologies. Hadoop, Spark, Hive, MongoDB, Presto, Flume
• Familiarity with Agile and Scrum methodologies and embracing of their values and principles
• Hands on experience leading large-scale global data warehousing and analytics projects.
• Understanding of database and analytical technologies in the industry including MPP and NoSQL databases, Data Warehouse design, BI reporting and Dashboard development.
• Experience with complicated account hierarchy, security groups, VPCs, AWS managed services, S3, ELB, EC2 Auto Scaling, Lambda
• TOGAF certification is advantageous
• Data Architecture Certification will be advantageous.
• Have significant experience developing Enterprise Grade applications at scale
• Have excellent technical documentation skills, and excellent communication across multiple cultures and time zones
• Familiarity with Version Control systems such as GitLab
• Familiarity with the other technologies used at Clickatell would be an advantageous, they are:
• Databases: Cassandra
• Scripting Language: Python

• High transactional development environments and Business intelligence experience will be advantageous.
• Exposure to Business Intelligence, data warehousing, dimensional modelling will be advantageous.
• Relevant knowledge in different development, database and business intelligence tools, techniques and environments to develop and deliver quality applications and documentation.
• Complete familiarity with Agile and traditional methods, particularly Waterfall, Scrum and Kanban
• Excellent Communication Skills
