Data Center Architect Engineer at Huawei Technologies

The Data Center Architect Engineer will work with the other design and engineering professionals on concepts, Spatial Coordination, Technical Design, and build projects.

Compulsory Responsibilities:

• Manage a portfolio of data center designs and features. Data center IT infrastructure To-be architecture design (network, storage, and server)
•  Developments and maintenances of Basis of Design, prototype design, and template specifications for architectural/civil/structural elements.
• Create architectural / civil / structural design & build RFPs.
•  Manage the work of our external architectural/civil/structural design consultants. 
• Coordinate with internal and external MEP design engineers.
• Lead initiatives aimed at improving cost, quality, schedule, and consistency.
• Work on multiple data center build and capital improvement projects simultaneously.
• Define data center system-level architecture, document performance and equipment requirements, communicate conceptual designs, and create/maintain project documentation before, during, and after construction.
• Perform and present business case analysis. Present the data center project experience, planning correspondence service business framework, leads the team to construct professional service capability.
• Motivated, dependable, and capable of working with limited oversight.
• Experience in the IT data center professional service integration implementation (public cloud commercial program, Life Cycle Management, server system integration, IT system application integration evaluation migration) experience.
• Has the capability of consolidation IT infrastructure network, storage, server, and application capability, has the large-scale Service Data Center data relocation and application relocation experience
• Familiar with the Carrier’s business system, providing consulting service for DC IT infrastructure architecture evolution and provides recommendations for improvement of the customer's IT business

Other Competencies/Attributes:

• Required necessary qualification and experience in Data Center Project, with a large scale data center consulting experience, and experience with leading professional services team can develop services and solutions catalog.
• Experience in the large-scale data center project system analysis, design, evaluation, and consultation capability, can according to the analysis of the result give the satisfied customer need the objective paradigm as well as the integration plan.
• Working experience with MEP engineering consultants.
• Working knowledge and experience with large scale mechanical and power systems.
• Vendor and consultant management skills.
• Solid working proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, and MS Office Suite.
• Ability and willingness to think outside of the box to find innovative solutions prior to and during the construction process to reduce costs without negative impacts on quality or reliability.
• Proficiency in building codes, regulations, and standards across the SA region. Multinational project and program experiences.
• Excellent communication skills capability, attention to detail, and high-quality standards.
• Ability to effectively communicate design standards to internal and external project partners.
• Ability to manage multiple fast-paced projects simultaneously and good project management capability
• Ability to travel internationally.

Qualifications: Education/Knowledge/Technical Skills and Experience

• Matric (Grade 12), Degree or Diploma in communications, electronics, computer or any business-related qualification will be an advantage
• Accredited Architecture Degree/ Bachelor degree in Engineering or IT, Computer, Software related graduate degree or above from well-known institutions / specific detailed and specialized on Data Center
• 5+ years of Industrial Facilities and 3+ years of experience in the design of mission-critical facilities.
• Must be presentable, articulate, reliable, committed, and resilient
