A bit about the role:

A renowned Insure-Tech company is looking for a Data Engineer to join an ever-growing Development team. This role will see you work across multiple projects.

Your daily adventures include:

• Designing, building, and maintaining the data platform inside AWS
• Ensuring the platform is resilient, highly available, secure, and performant
• Designing, building, and maintaining data pipelines to support bulk and real-time data processing
• Ensuring the data platform is capable of supporting analytical, explorative, and machine learning workloads, including tooling support
• Defining and implementing best practices in dealing with sensitive data supporting regulatory requirements
• Assisting the engineering teams to identify opportunities for increasing the application performance and ultimately client experience by selecting appropriate data designs for their various use cases
• Introducing innovation by staying abreast of Data Industry trends as well as cloud platform innovation
• Implementing comprehensive real-time monitoring across the entire platform and running applications
• Identifying leading and lagging metrics to provide insight into

What it takes to succeed:

• 5+ years of relevant experience
• The ability to work on your own, sometimes spearheading a new direction with minimal guidance
• Data specialist with demonstrable experience in data engineering
• Experienced in architecting, securing, and managing cloud-based data platforms and pipelines, preferably AWS
• Experience in implementing monitoring, incident, alerting, and escalation systems
• Knowledge in optimizing data platforms, pipelines, and applications
• Experience implementing DR/BCP practices and procedures
• Experience in managing real-time and analytical data architectures
• Experience with Python/R/Node.JS/Bash
• Experienced in managing SQL and NoSQL databases
• Experienced in managing data platforms and data pipelines
• Experienced in managing and designing data lakes
• Cloud, data engineering, and data analytics certifications are a bonus
